great timing parte dos

God smiles.

He really does.

today, i was in a crabby mood. maybe it was part hormonal (sidenote: let me just say how i hate it when i'm upset and people chalk it up to my pregnancy hormones! maybe i'm crying or angry because someone just hurt my feelings or ticked me off...isn't that, you know...possible?).

or perhaps it was because of some personal issues i've been dealing with lately.

but crabby i certainly was. and not just crabby...i mean, i was crabby, shrimpy, lobstery, scallopy. pretty much all the seafood you can imagine.

so this afternoon, i'm sitting at my desk silently stewing in my own irritation and praying that i don't go schizo on the next person who asks me the 87th dumb question of the day. i look up and whose bright, smiling beautiful face do i suddenly see?

my Mommy's :-)

she had come to surprise me, just to say hi. we went out for a walk and stopped and bought some fresh fruit to eat and just walked and talked (and laughed at how a woman walking with an infant whipped out her boob in the middle of the sidewalk during afternoon DC rush, and started nursing her baby. dude, i mean, she popped out a massive breast and it was just hanging there, exposed, while she lifted up her baby to get her into position. and this is as flocks of people are walking by...i DIED laughing :-D. i'm all for nursing and think it is beautiful and natural, and i certainly can't wait to nurse my own baby. and i don't think there's anything obscene about breastfeeding at all. BUT ya gotta understand that a bunch of folks running around on their lunch hour don't really want or need to see a woman standing in the middle of the sidewalk with her boobs winking at the world).

anyway, it was just so wonderful to see her so unexpectedly (my Mommy, not the boob lady)! i love her more than she could ever know.
and i was so grateful for God's smile on me at that perfect moment.

even when i'm being a brat, He knows how to love me perfectly, just like any loving, nurturing Daddy would.
