sweet dreams are made of these

the other night, i had a dream that i was in a building looking out a window, and outside that window i had a perfect view of 3 waterfalls, side-by-side - much like the ones pictured to the left. they were breathtaking, mesmerizing, the most beautiful things i had ever seen. and the water was crystal clear and bright blue! not just regular sea-blue, like waters of the Caribbean. but almost like an electric, neon blue.

in this building were various people milling around, yet i seemed to be the only one who was paying any attention to these waterfalls - but i didn't want to be the only one. i wanted to bring everyone over to the window to see what i saw.

so i ran to grab a friend (it seems as if i knew the person in the dream, but in my recollections, none of the people really had faces, so i can't be sure) to bring her to a window to show her the waterfalls. the building we were in was huge and airy and had numerous windows all over the place. so after i grabbed the 'friend' i pulled her to the nearest window to show her the waterfalls. only, we couldn't see them - it was as if we were at a different angle and something was obstructing our view. i could see the mountain from which the waterfalls were flowing, but could no longer see the actual waterfalls.

desperate for this other person to witness what i had seen, i pulled her to another level of the building, to another window, assured that this time, we'd have a clear, unobstructed view. but to no avail - something was still blocking the waterfalls and i couldn't show her what i had previously seen.

i remember being so distraught and frustrated because seeing the waterfalls had been so remarkable, so amazing, so awesome, that i just HAD to share that experience with someone else. and even though there were hundreds of windows all around that building, no matter which window i chose to look out of with the friend who was with me, i couldn't see the waterfalls anymore. i wanted nothing more than to show her so she could marvel at what i had seen. but it was futile. no matter what window we looked out of, we couldn't see the waterfalls.

it was an awesome dream. i had that dream monday night, but i still see it and remember it so clearly. i'm no dream interpreter, nor am i one to believe that every dream has significance. sometimes dreams really are just a jumble of subconscious thoughts and memories. but i can't shake the feeling that this dream meant more. i have yet to pray to ask God for clarity, to learn if it was something He was trying to show me. i have a couple of "theories" but like i said, i'm not Joseph - i'm no dream interpreter.

so i'll ask the One i know Who can bring clarity to any situation - i'd really like to know :-)
