missing the mark

ever feel like you'll never live up to what everyone thinks you should be?

when do you get to that point where you just don't care anymore? if there's an art to that, please teach me. i'm dying to get to that point.

no matter how much i tell myself that i have my own path to follow, led by God and my heart, i still find myself concerned with what those closest to me think i should be, or should be doing.

the sounds of, "why don't you do this?" "why don't you try that?" "you should do this," ring in my ears constantly.

and i have the sneaking feeling that if i don't end up whatever or wherever everyone seems to think i should be, that the disappointment (theirs) will be physically palpable.

too many eyes on me. albeit, loving eyes, it's just a lot of pressure.
