i'm not dreaming of a white christmas

...cuz i hate snow. it's cold, wet and slippery. images of me taking one false move and skidding down the avenue taunt me. i can just see me ending up on youtube.

and i can't wear cute shoes in the snow - i have to wear shoes with traction. but even the best rubber sole is no match for sheets of hardened snow-turned-ice.

sheets of death.

a nightmare for one as clumsy as me. oh, how the klutz in me hates snow. i mean, i trip and fall on 80 degree sunshiney days. ice and snow?

fugeddaboutit.

don't let snow fool you. yeah, it's all pretty as it floats down from the clouds all fresh and fluffy and whatnot. and you see the kids out there trying to catch snow flakes on their tongues and you go "awwwww...." and tilt your head to the side and smile.

but lets see you smile and give the head tilt when that pretty snow is making your car skid off the road.

not to mention i get stuck with the annoying-making-me-late-for-work task of having to sweep and chisel it off my car in the morning. this is why i will treat my husband like a king. anyone who gets up early on a cold wintery morning and cleans the snow off my car would get some good Dfly loving forever. cuz i know any hubby of mine would NEVER expect these delicate hands to go out there and do it myself.

but i AM dreaming of a Christmas where i see God. like really see Him.
and hear Him.
and smell Him.

i need that.

you know the one thing i do like about snow though? that after a snowfall - the kind that actually sticks and blankets the earth - everything outside is very quiet and still. it's an eerie kind of peace. i dig it. i also like how after a snowfall, 12 midnight can seem as bright as 4 in the afternoon. light reflects off of snow with brilliance. me digs that too.

ok, so there are two things i like about snow. but whatevs, i still don't like it enough to want it here. y'all can keep your midwestern/northern blizzards to yourselves, please and thank you. we're cool over here - we don't need it.

know what else i'd like? some good pumpkin soup. or butternut squash soup. dee. lish.

i have an affinity for orange foods.
