arc of His covenant

yesterday there was a sudden torrential downpour and storm around 7pm. at one point on my drive home, the sky seemed to be battling itself. it was literally divided in two:

to my left, the sun, in all its brilliance, was blaring. the sky surrounding it was blue; white, puffy clouds adorned its space.

but to my right, the other half of the sky was eerily dark with storm clouds, the last of the rains falling, and flashes of lightning illuminating the darkness.

but pasted across the dark storm clouds was the largest, most vibrantly colored rainbow i have ever seen. and it was perfectly arched - perfectly. i don't believe i've ever seen a complete rainbow. of all the ones i've ever seen, i only am able to glimpse fractions of it. but from where i was yesterday, at that precise moment, i could see the entire arc of the rainbow. i have never seen anything like that in my life, and i was in awe.

i almost cried. there it was emblazoned before me, right in front of me, as if it were put there just for me (i'm so narcissistic, lol....blame it on God - sometimes He makes me feel like i'm His only child).

i won't even bother analyzing the symbolism of the brilliant rainbow contrasting the dark clouds, or the sun's triumph in one half of the sky while the other half was gloomy and violent. i'm sure you can draw your own interpretations as you see fit.

i was just amazed and it brightened the rest of my night. my only regret is that i didn't have my camera on me. i ALWAYS carry my camera so that i can capture spontaneous beauty spur of the moment. but i had JUST left it at home, as i was on my way to the gym when this occurred and i didn't see a need to bring it. figures...:-/

but i won't complain - i gots my memories to sustain me.
