say it ain't so, Tanner...

you just know the world is going to end any minute when Bob Saget, better known as Danny Tanner on "Full House" has a profanity-laden, ear-bleeding inducing, "what the heck??" provoking, stand up comedy show.

y'all, Danny Tanner has somehow become very gangster. every single 2nd word out of his mouth was profane, and i'm NOT exaggerating. there was so much cursing in just ONE sentence that by the time he got to the end of the sentence, i had no idea what he was talking about. dude puts Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence (both of whom are known to have very "naughty" comedy specials) to shame. they are MONKS compared to Bob Saget.

i could only stomach to watch literally like 3 mins of it - and that was only out of pure SHOCK and awe. i was incredulous.

i mean, ok, i know "Danny" was just a character on a sitcom. but i can't help but still see him as such a wholesome "Dad" on what was a very wholesome (but very corny) show. so to see this TV "Dad" on stage cursing like 70 sailors with anger management issues, Tourette's, and high on amphetamines, i was appalled.

i really must be getting old...this so sounds like something my mother would say, LOL.

but you know what makes me happy about that? i give God so much glory in times like that. because i VIVIDLY remember a time when my mouth was just as foul as Bob's. cursing was a part of my every day vocabulary for a long time. i could listen to profanity-laden songs, sing/rap all the lyrics and not even feel the shame. i could sit through a comedy special or watch a profane movie and laugh my heart out.

now? the minute i hear curse word-riddled sentences, either in song, television or in daily life, i flinch. it makes me uncomfortable, annoyed and offended. that is GOD all the way! only God can change a heart and one's ways, and make one sensitive to the things that He objects to.

i love little reminders that i'm not who i was. all glory to and thanks to God.
