the sweetest little Brownie

my mom just told me the funniest, cutest story i have heard in a long time about one of my nieces.

my niece, who's 7, was a bit upset that she couldn't participate in the same girl scout troop as her older sister (also my niece, por supuesto), who is 10. she wanted to be a girl scout just like her big sis.

but one day at school, she learned about the Brownie troops and that that particular group fit her age bracket. she was so excited that she enrolled herself, LOL. she was so happy and eager to join that she couldn't wait for her mom to do it for her!

her mom came to pick her up from school that day and waited and waited for her to come outside. when she never arrived, her mom went looking for her, and found her sitting in a classroom... attending a Brownie meeting.

*contentedly sighing and cheesing like a Cheshire cat*

i love hilariously cute stories like that. that little girl is going to be something so incredible one day. i just know it. she's so smart and sweet, and from what i hear she's an excellent writer, way beyond "typical" (whatever that is) 7 yr old writing capability. the Lord made her remarkably special. you can feel it when you talk to her.

i love Him. and i love those kids. i miss them like crazy - they all (6 of them!! - 3 boys, 3 girls) moved to IL a few years ago. my mom just sent me a picture of the 3 girls and it warms my heart to see how big they've gotten - and how beautiful they are!

and my 10 year old niece is learning the clarinet. it has a case and everything - she's so official! in the pic she was posing with her case and clarinet instruction booklet/sheet music.

doesn't get any more precious than that.
