feliz viernes!

guess what??

your girl (me, duh) was 13 minutes early for work today!!

(*doing the cabbage patch*)

whoever said there was no hope for me...well, they were wrong. now let's just see if i can repeat that stellar punctuality from here on out. ha. fat chance. (hey, i'm a realist) but i shall continue to strive for excellence. contrary to how it may seem, i do feel badly about my constant tardiness in every avenue of my life. so i'm going to really step it up and get my stinger in gear. BUT if it never gets better, let's hope that at least my future hubby can put up with me :-) maybe he'll be a late bug too! then we can be two tardy creatures in love. i can live with that.

Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp last night. alls i have to say is, Tocarra? wow.
she's so ..... extra. ok, so maybe i have more to say, so here goes:

i, for one, think that she looks great these days. she was on Fit Club a while back and lost a lot of weight. she gained it all back (and more) but she looks more fit now than her days on Top Model. for her height and proportion, i think she's a nice size. now, how fit she is (cuz fitness ain't all about size) or how healthy she is, is a different story - i don't know about either. anyway, she ranted on and on with mucho 'tude and sass (just like the last time she competed) about how she was happy with her body and curves and didn't think she needed to lose any weight. i mean, was really mad about it, cursing at the cameras and such - how dare they tell her she needed to get in better shape.

(insert sound of crickets here)

so...um...then WHY are you on the show...for a SECOND time, no less??? the show is all about getting fit and dropping poundage...hello. if you ain't about either, you should've stayed home. the end. she is drama and a half.

so after i take the responsible route and dump half of my bonus into savings, with the rest of the duckets, i'm thinking of first, buying a couch (um...yeah, i won't tell you all how little ms. dragonflysoul has been living in that apartment since '06 and still hasn't bought a couch. it's the only piece of furniture i lack - well, that and a coffee table. and my tv is in the living room. soooo...when i'm lounging watching tv, i make a nice little bed of pillows and comforters and straight chill on the floor. aaaahhh, i'm so classy! it is actually quite remarkably comfortable - i've always found laying on the floor appealing. i sometimes sleep on the floor, though i do have a bed).

second, i'm thinking of taking a vacation - alone. i want to do that so badly! but why am i scared? especially if i travel to a foreign country (which is what i plan to do - the U.S. is so blah and overrated), i worry about being a woman and traveling alone. will someone try to hurt or rob me or kidnap me for ransom money? it does happen, you know, and i don't know if my karate and self-defense skills from the 11th grade are still fresh in my mind. but many women travel alone all the time. i guess i can't hold myself back out of fear, just trust God to protect and provide, and go for it. one never knows what dangers may or may not lie ahead. God's got my back right? so i should just do it right?

it's going to take some financial planning cuz i don't believe in charging stuff that i couldn't otherwise afford. but if i can pay it out of pocket, it's on!

next question is: where to??

I wonder what Jesus' voice sounds like? i would love to have heard him talk and sing. is His voice really deep? i have a feeling He's really soft spoken. every time He spoke in the Bible, even in very agitated situations, His responses were always calm, powerful, yet to the point. so i doubt He speaks loudly at all - well except maybe when He was flipping tables over in the Temple after the people had turned it into a house of merchandise. He may have gotten loud with those folks, lol. Jesus is the man!

i can't wait to talk to Him face to face. :-)

i learned a new word yesterday: albatross.

ok, so i love kids. i really do, i promise. but i would love to post a notice in this office on bright yellow construction paper that encourages people to not bring their kids to work. this is really not a daycare. now, if your relative stops by with the kids just to say hi or whatever, that's fine. but when you bring your kids to work for the long-haul of the day, i have a slight problem with that. and i'm not talking about some young, single mother who can't afford daycare and needs to bring her kids in with her sometimes cuz she doesn't have anyone else - cuz i would be sympathetic to that. but no one here fits that description.

kids are beautiful and fun, and i'm not uptight - i'm all about getting my hands dirty and having fun. but there's a time and a place, and a place of business is not it. kids are distracting at work - and LOUD. oh, the loudness. and they like to run up and down hallways screaming and knocking stuff over. some people here seem to have this idea that we actually are deprived or something, if we go a month without seeing their kids or grandkids. i beg to differ.

this chick here brought her "godson" to work today (i kid you not, she must be mad popular cuz homegirl has about 12 different "godchildren". if i were braver, i would really ask if she is really their godmother, as in, if the parents die, she gets custody. or is this like when we used to call people our "play sister".....i'm just saying.)

anyway, little dude is SO CUTE - looks to be about 4 yrs old. but i can already see (and hear) that he's going to be a problem - in the conference room opening cabinets, running full speed down the hallway (and we have 3 clients here today *sigh*), and i just heard him in her office screaming, sounding like he's having a tantrum. they better be so glad i'm not a manager, cuz they would hate me for sure. (awwwwww, he just gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek - so i take back all my angst, LOL. i am a PUNK!)
