is anything sacred anymore?

i read an article this morning about how scientists are manipulating clouds (calling it "Weather Modification"), both here in the US and abroad, in order to make it rain more in areas where more precipitation is desirable or desperately needed. while i understand how important rainfall is to lands that are chronically dry, still, i can't help but feel, i don't know...offended? on God's behalf. I mean, in a world where humans have devised tools to control the universe in all kinds of arrogant and power-hungry ways (cloning, genetic designing, and the like), can't we just leave SOME things to God? i mean, really, when we start telling the clouds what to do, i think we've crossed a serious line here.
