trimming trees

why do they call decorating Christmas trees "tree trimming"? when i was little, i thought "tree trimming" literally meant cutting limbs off the Christmas tree.

we had a tree decorating party at the office today. i was the DJ and had a blast. we grooved to mostly 80s and 90s tunes - michael jackson, madonna, eurythmics, the village people, and so on....

there's something so heartwarming about seeing some conservative corporate folks in their 50s and up doing the Macarena and the YMCA dances.

i'm in a pretty groovy mood.

the 2 glasses of champagne i had didn't hurt either.
