a prayer from Tantalus

Lord? it's me again - Dragonfly. Seriously...i know You have a wonderful sense of humor. but for real? my life? does it have to be THIS funny??

alls i'm asking is that You have compassion for my limited wisdom and knowledge that come along with being a mere human and not God - and um...please just get to the punchline.

because obviously a large fraction of this script that is my life is one long, drawn-out joke. and can i just be honest with You? ...um...i don't really get it.

i mean, i'm laughing....but i don't get the joke. and i'm not quite sure i find it all that funny.

so to sum up...if we could just wrap this up and get to the bottom line of the joke, i think sailing would be just a tad bit smoother. i love that we can laugh about my life. i really do. but i'd at least like to know why i'm laughing.

because right now, i'm the girl standing in a crowd, laughing at a joke that i just don't get.

so...the punchline, the explanation of the joke...i'm waiting. and i still love You.

i'm thinking of changing my name to Tantalus. if you don't know the story of Tantalus, look it up. pretty much sums things up.
