here's a tip

don't watch a marathon of Law and Order: SVU and then take a nap.

you will have scary dreams that you are in episodes of Law and Order, except in the dream, it is your real life.

in one dream i was running (literally, on foot) from Colombian drug lords who had bombs. they blew up a grocery store shopping cart (i had gone grocery shopping that morning - in real life, not in the dream), and i knew what they were up to. so they were after me. i was jumping down stairwells, pried open a window with some tool that i have no idea how i came to possess, and climbed out to escape the Colombians.

and i was running a lot. i remember saying out loud to myself in the dream, "wow, i can run really fast!!"

as if the dream weren't scary enough, as i slept, one of my cats climbed on top of me and was sniffing my face. i was probably talking in my sleep and she got in my face to see what the heck i was doing. i felt her breath on my nose and it awakened me. i opened my big brown eyes and saw her big green eyes staring at me, a centimeter from my face. and i just KNEW it was the Colombian drug king standing over me to kill me. and i gasped so loudly that it sounded like a scream. scared me and her to death.

she ran for her life and i lay there with my heart beating so fast that i thought it would explode. and remembering how i was an Olympic sprinter running from Colombian bad guys who blow up shopping carts.
