think of the one thing you want most out of your life (at least right now, because our dreams tend to change with time).

how would you cope if that dream was never realized?

think of dreams you had years ago. have they all come to fruition?

are there dreams you've had that you're glad never panned out the way you once hoped they would? are there dreams you still hope will be achieved?

i can tell you that for me and my life, i'm so thankful to God that dreams i prayed would come true years ago never did. what i thought i used to want is nothing like what i now desire. as my heart has evolved in Him, so have my desires. i thank Him for unanswered prayers.

but i gotta admit, there are some dreams i haven't given up on. some fantasies i haven't let go of. and i have to constantly ask myself if my love of and trust in God is enough to sustain me if my biggest dreams never come true. after all, the reality is that the script to my life was written before i was formed in my mother's womb. Jeremiah tells us that God knows the plans He has for us. and though His every plan for us is for good, His plans may not always be the "good" we envisioned.

we make plans every day. we all fantasize, to a degree, about how we want our lives to be shaped.

but what happens inside of us if or when things don't turn out to be shaped the way we desired?

it takes so much faith and power to surrender ALL hopes and dreams in favor of God's plans that may or may not be what we originally want.

do you trust God enough to give you the best ending to your life's script, even if His ending looks nothing like yours?

sometimes i don't think i do. and that scares me.
