travel advice

question, for all you who travel regularly:

how in the world do you afford it???

for real.

browsing international vacation packages on every website known to man, a good package for 4-5 nights minimum, costs $1000 and up. and that only includes hotel, airfare and sometimes meals (if it's all-inclusive). not to mention that you need spending money for activities, getting arounds, etc.

a vacation could easily run you $2000 and up (most likely up), unless you find cheap airfare, and then stay with someone you just happen to know halfway across the world. or stay in a hostel or something....(and get killed)...kidding :-/

do normal people just have 2-3 thousand Gs just laying around waiting to be spent??

if so, what in the heck do YOU do for a living, and how can i get down?

or are frequent travelers busting out credit cards and wracking up debt? cuz DflySoul is not a fan of charging a darn thing. if i can't afford it straight from my bank account, it usually isn't getting purchased. and even the so-called "cheap" vacation deals are phenomenally expensive to my wallet.

i have a coworker who travels all the time. and she's up to her earlobes in debt. like creditors and banks calling the job looking for her, kinda debt. i'm not even kidding. vacations are nice, but that makes no sense to me. i couldn't be lounging on a beach somewhere enjoying the serenity, sipping on a piña colada, knowing i just added a few thousand to a credit card bill i already can't afford to pay and plotting how i'mma fake my death to get out of paying it.

so i need advice. how does one afford to get away?

this mess is too expensive.
