insurmountable burdens

a coworker just informed me with an exasperated sigh and dramatic flourish that she's leaving for the day. (at quarter til 11 am)

she's "stressed out" because she can't find her diamond tennis bracelet, which she took the liberty to inform me cost $15,000.

well, wouldn't we all love to up and leave our jobs before noon because of such gut-wrenching personal problems.

not to mention that people are looking for you because you had a meeting at 11 am that you ducked out on. not to mention that my phone is ringing off the hook with people needing your services and wondering why you haven't returned their phone calls.

but yeah...go home and look for your $15,000 tennis bracelet.
