this post is strictly a vent session...needed an outlet and my mom (my usual vent partner) didn't answer her phone. there's really no one else to call to vent, hence the writing:
so this woman (she's in her late 50s) who works here has this "friend" who comes to visit her way too often at work. he's this old guy (has to be in his 70s) who is a straight up perv. he always has to make some comment about how good i look as he leans over my desk and stares me up and down (GROSS), and then when she comes out to meet him, he ogles her up and down and makes borderline derogatory comments (in front of me) about how good she looks, looking like he's about to swallow her. makes me physically ill. not only that, but i've seen them kiss on several occasions, and this guy is married! anyway...he's one of those arrogant old white men, who thinks the world is his, and he struts up in here like he has a right to be here and asks me where she is. then he proceeds to barge his way through the office looking for her. and if he finds her meeting in someone else's office, he bursts his way through, interrupting their meeting, to talk to her. and NO ONE ever says anything to him. they laugh and greet him...what the frick?!?! alls i'm going to say is this: LET that have been a guest for me. LET some man who's coming to pick me up for lunch just be wandering around the office, like this isn't a place of business, looking for me. and LET him barge up in someone's office that i'm having a meeting in. can you say FIRED?? plus, if i had people coming here to visit me as often as this guy comes here, i'm sure i'd be reprimanded for being unprofessional.
must be nice to be white in corporate america - you can take off on a whim, give no notice, just don't show up for work, and no one says anything. you can take days off even though you have no vacation time left. you can have friends wander all over the office interrupting meetings looking for you, and no one says anything. you can go shopping for an hour and a half on your lunch break (even though you only get one hour), and then still come back with food and go sit in the conference room and eat for another hour. you can tell everyone you have an "appointment" and leave in the middle of the day, be gone for 2 hours, then come back with your hair done. and no one says anything.
hmm...must be nice.
